Are you struggling with sleep deprivation due to multiple night wakings?

Is your child's bedtime becoming a source of stress in your life?

Finding solutions for your child's sleep challenges can feel overwhelming.

Parenthood doesn't have to be this way - your child is capable of sleeping better and I want to teach you how!

I am a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and I am passionate about guiding you through the process of teaching your baby or toddler independent sleep.

My Philosophy

When it comes to sleep support for infants and toddlers, the term "sleep training" often carries negative connotations. My goal is to shift how sleep training is perceived by redefining the concept. Sleep training is not about leaving your child to "cry it out" or ignoring their emotional and physical needs.

I view sleep training as a comprehensive system of interconnected elements that, when aligned and fine-tuned, help your child fall asleep more easily at bedtime and sleep through the night. I take the time to truly understand your family and your child’s unique needs and temperament. This allows me to create a personalized sleep plan tailored to your child and family. There is so much more to teaching and guiding a child through learning a new skill or adjusting to a major change in their life.

I believe that all parents have the best intentions for their children. I approach every client with compassion, understanding, and a non-judgmental attitude. I never want any parent to feel like it’s their fault or that they’ve done something wrong. As a parent myself, I know what it’s like to be in "survival mode," and I can sympathize with you. At the same time, I’m not afraid to offer some "tough love" when necessary to help you break habits that may be hindering you and your child from achieving restful sleep.

I believe in and recommend a variety of sleep training methods, but what sets me apart is that I only recommend strategies that align with your parenting style and values. My goal as your sleep consultant is for you to feel confident and comfortable with the plan. This is the key to successful sleep training—when you’re confident with the plan, you’ll be consistent, and consistency is ultimately what leads to success.

Hi! I'm Shannon Young, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant through the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management.

I live in Langley, BC, Canada where I share a home with my husband and our two boys. To be
honest, I hesitated about having children, because of the fear that others put into me
regarding baby sleep. We've all heard it before "you'll never sleep again".  I knew that I
wanted to be a mom, but I also knew that sleep is so important to me, and in order to
function as a good mom, I needed to be well rested. I was determined to find the secret
to baby sleep before my first son was even born. By the time he arrived, I felt so
prepared, but I quickly learned that babies are not hypothetical beings that I read about
in a book. They are humans, not robots and my nervous system was hard-wired to respond
to his every need regardless of what a book said. There were ups and downs as I learned
how to tend to his needs while still prioritizing good sleep habits and I am proud to say
that both of my boys were sleeping through the night consistently by the age of 3-months-old.

Now my goal in life is to help other parents and children achieve a full nights sleep so you can stop surviving, and start thriving! I know that parents have only the best intentions for their children but are feeling hopeless, stuck or like their child just isn't capable of good sleep. I truly believe that all babies and toddlers are capable of sleeping through the night independently and I want to share my knowledge and support with you to help your family succeed.
